i am working
some of these goddam paintings are almost done. they make me quiet.
my last class with gary on tuesday was pleasant. i will miss figure drawing but i need these summer evenings free because all i want to do is work anymore, it's in me
we're going later this year
Etna is erupting, which makes me laugh - that can be the only possible explanation for the way my blood feels (claire rabe painting done 2005ish, collection of the rabe family)

to summarize
im constantly fighting with myself when it comes to figure drawing
sometimes i want the image and the marks so hard that i clench up and do these horrible cross-hatched antiseptic little bastard drawings, like i'm trying to squeeze the model out through my clawed up hands
